As soon as we received Hannah’s email telling us that she wanted us to photograph her pregnancy during her vacation on Holbox Island, we jumped out of the chair in excitement. We love maternity photo sessions, we love the beach and we love even more Holbox. It was simply the perfect combination that ensures that all photos will be pure magic.

Doing a photoshoot during your pregnancy is something we highly recommend. We know that it is difficult to make some free time for it, but the stage of pregnancy is a very special one where time seems to stop, slow down and you connect with yourself. That is why it is the ideal time to capture such an incredible moment in your life before the arrival of the baby.

The benefits of doing your maternity photo session outdoors instead of in a photography studio is that you can move freely and capture more spontaneous and natural moments. Of course that you can also have natural studio photos, but there is nothing like the freedom to move and express ourselves in the immensity of a beach. We’re outdoors big fans!

A very frequent question is what is the ideal time of pregnancy to do a maternity photo session? 

Each pregnancy is different and unique, but we believe that towards the end of the second trimester it is ideal. At this point, we are still comfortable with our bodies to move, the first trimester symptoms were left behind and there is still time before the baby arrives. Anyway, the third trimester is also very nice since it is when the bump is bigger and we are really into the mood.
