Equality-minded Mayakoba Jewish wedding at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, Mexico. Why smash one glass when you can smash two?

We met them one year before at their wedding site visit at Mayakoba. They traveled from NYC to Mexico to get to know better the resort and choose the perfect wedding venue, and believe me, they did well.

During their visit we shot the engagement photos. One year after, we met again to photograph their wedding weekend on a very special date in Mexico, the day of the dead and Halloween since these celebrations are just one day apart!.

They offered a catamaran trip, a “Día de los Muertos” themed wedding rehearsal and a Halloween welcome cocktail to their guests, and of course, the wedding day which was amazing.

All the planning and design of this wedding was crafted by an amazing team of professionals from the wedding industry. I know; you might be thinking “who they are?!”. The vendor list is at the bottom of the post with all the contact information of each of them. You’re welcome.

Carey and Carl are a super laid back couple. They met one summer night on the beach in NY. Despite the advice of her parents, that nothing good happens after 3 am, this was not the case and a few years later we are here celebrating their relationship.

It was a Jewish religious ceremony with an interesting adjustments that the bride requested from the rabbi, it ended up being a equality-minded Jewish wedding. As you might know, the ceremony often ends with the groom stepping on a wine glass under his heel, but this time, it wasn’t that way. This time it was two glasses and both of them smashing the glass under the chuppah. Why smash one glass when you can smash two?. She is a faithful defender of feminism and equality and her ceremony could not be different. Loved it! You will see that moment photographed as soon as you start to scroll down.

The ceremony ended before sunset on the terrace of the Banyan Tree Mayakoba lobby, followed by a cocktail. While doing a Mayakoba Jewish wedding you will find lot of great spots for the chuppah set up.
The whole party was at MK Blue, and like good New Yorkers, they danced non-stop until very late at night.

We loved being part of such an important day for them and we will always remember them with great affection. Thank you for choosing us!
