Mackenzie & Sam’s destination wedding at Nizuc Resort and Spa was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The team making magic – our friends at Canteiro Weddings – spared no expense in creating a truly unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests. Everything from the dress to the floral arrangements was thoughtfully put together, with each detail carefully chosen to bring to life this dreamy, bespoke celebration that we’ll remember forever.

The venue

Nestled in an exclusive and idyllic location within the Cancun hotel zone, the Nizuc Resort & Spa took this celebration to the next level. Surrounded by mangroves and lush tropical flora, this venue of timeless beauty, awarded Best Beachfront Luxury Resort in 2023, provided an exquisite setting for Mackenzie & Sam to treat their guests to an unforgettable weekend.

Oscar de la Renta is a name that commands respect and admiration in the fashion world. Known for their breathtaking wedding gowns that ooze elegance and sophistication, the Bridal Collection Spring 2022 captures the essence of timeless romance effortlessly. Today, we’re excited to reveal one of the eleven extraordinary dresses from this remarkable collection, as Mackenzie rocked it with natural and effortless allure on her wedding day.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place on a Saturday afternoon in March, with the sun shining brightly and the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea reflecting a wide variety of blue tones, creating a truly magical moment. And nothing says spring like the colorful blooms that adorned the wedding arch down the aisle. Ranging from yellow to vibrant pink with a white and nude-rose packed ceiling, this floral art made for the most dreamy chuppah delightfully crafted by Gabi Lavor and her team.

Following the Jewish traditions, Mackenzie & Sam had an intimate Ketubah signing ceremony, followed by the ceremony under the chuppah officiated by the Rabbi Steve Spiegel. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows and rings as a symbol of their commitment to love each other, followed by the blowing of the shofar by the Rabbi who finalized the ritual by breaking the glass, as the tradition goes.

Nizuc Wedding – Reception at Terra Nostra

Having soaked in the magic of the golden hour, Mackenzie & Sam joined their guests for cocktail hour while our team captured the exquisitely decorated Terra Nostra deck against a mesmerizing sunset. Nizuc Resort never looked so good!

Overlooking the mangroves and the canal, this outdoor deck features an infinity pool and was expertly decorated with pastel floral bouquets along the banquet-style table. Matching the fabulous Spring color palette of this wedding, an eye-catching seating chart awaited guests displaying a geometrical pattern framed by floral decorations.

WELCOME PARTY – NIZUC BEACH

The bride and groom arrived at resort’s private beach at Nizuc Resort & Spa Cancun in style to their welcome party that was simply stunning. The tables for dinner were set up on the beach, with flowers and candles creating a romantic and boho atmosphere. The bride was wearing a gold midi dress, and the groom was wearing a very original t-shirt.

The welcome party was a great way to kick off the wedding festivities. The guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers as they mingled and got to know each other. The bride and groom made their way around the party, greeting their guests and thanking them for coming with the amazing sunset behind them.

Before guests arrived, we did a mini photo session of the couple around the party set up and of course with the stunning Cancun ocean in the background. After dinner, the party continued with dancing and music. It was a truly magical evening, and it was the perfect way to start the wedding weekend.

The welcome party at Nizuc Beach was a perfect way to start the wedding festivities. The bride and groom were surrounded by their loved ones, and they were all enjoying the beautiful beach and the warm weather. It was a night to remember, and it was the perfect way to kick off the wedding weekend.
